A novel.
A whole freaking novel.
50,000 words in a MONTH.
Go ahead and say it with me:
That ish is BANANAS, you’re a MOM, ain’t nobody got time for that.
But.
I’ve made it farther than I ever have. And while it’s not the best thing I’ve ever written, I actually really like what I’ve got so far. It’ll need a ton of editing and reworking, and it may never see the light of day, but y’all, I put words to paper (well, digital paper) on something I’ve been trying to do for over a DECADE and that alone is a reason to celebrate.
This year, unlike previous years, I’m flying by the seat of my pants, so I am what the community calls a pantser. On November 1st, 2021 I sat at my desk and just started writing. No character development, no plot, no outline, absolutely NOTHING. And I’ve made it farther than I ever have before.
I may not finish, and that’s okay. I’ve laid the groundwork and gotten a lot of it on paper, so if I don’t write another word this month, I can pick it back up and not be starting from scratch. If you’d like to follow my progress setup an account HERE first, then request to be my buddy HERE!
I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to share excerpts here or not, but I’ll at least update my progress weekly/whenever I get a big chunk written. If you’re also participating, send me a buddy request so we can cheer each other on!
Until next time,
Liz 💜
